Energy Drink Ratings Explained
Xfuel Energy Shot Review:
So there have been Energy Drinks that have focused on gamers in the past; however, I have yet to hear of an energy shot that is made specifically for gamers. That is until the Xfuel energy shot entered the market. Xfuel energy shots is the creation of Alex and Austin Gere along with their friend Nick Panes and is made by AboutMe Labs. With a name like Xfuel and a slogan like "Take it to the Next Level" this shot is designed specifically for gamers. Now I am definitely not a hard core gamer, but I have no problem putting the Xfuel energy shot to a taste and kick test. So let's move on with the review...
Xfuel Energy Shot Review: Taste
The little 2 ounce energy shot has only 4 calories and comes in a nicely designed package, albeit was a little hard to open. But once I got it open the flavor was excellent, especially for an energy shot. The delivery was smooth and there was no medicinal aftertaste. My only problem with the Xfuel energy shot is that I could not pinpoint the taste!!! I thought I tasted hints of apple, yet it almost seemed to be followed by grape. Regardless of my inadequacies in pinpointing the taste I thoroughly enjoyed it. So my taste review is probably not a big help, but if you have tried it feel free to chime in below in the comments section with your take on the taste. Taste Rating - 8.8
Xfuel Energy Shot Review: Kick
So I am not a hardcore gamer, but since Xfuel is supposed to help take you to the next level, I thought I would put it to use at the gym. Waking up nice and early at 5:30... after a happy hour that lasted a little too long... I hoped that Xfuel would provide me with the get up and go that I was looking for at the gym. With Energy Ingredients like L-Taurine, Caffeine (about the amount in a premium cup of coffee - so around 80-120 milligrams I am guessing), Glucorono, Lactone, N Acetyl L Tyrosine,, L-Phenylanine, Malic Cid as well as a bunch of B-Vitamins, the kick was well received. No the strongest drink I have ever tried, but then again, the last thing you want is to be all jittery when jamming out to Guitar Hero. Kick Rating - 8.5
Xfuel Energy Shot Review: Final Judgment
A well rounded shot delivering an excellent flavor and above average kick. Xfuel targets a unique market (strictly gamers) that has really not been fully capitalized on yet (at least to my knowledge). And with substantial prizes being awarded for top gamers these days, having that extra edge to "take you to the next level" can be nothing but beneficial in my opinion. Final Judgment - 8.6
